"Aqua Dubai is the freshest thing Al Haramain make, and it is the bottle to reach for if you have always found Arabian perfumery too dense for British weather. The opening is genuinely aquatic — green notes, bergamot and mandarin, sharp and cool — and it sets a very different expectation from the rest of the Amber Oud line.

The heart is where it earns its reputation. Pineapple and blackcurrant sit over melon and amber, and that fruity-amber combination is what gives the fragrance its distinctive brightness. Pineapple is a difficult note to handle without tipping into something cheap and sweet, but here it is kept dry and slightly tart, propped up by the amber underneath.

The base is the surprise: petitgrain and galbanum are green, bitter, almost herbal materials, and pairing them with musk and vanilla gives the drydown a clean, slightly soapy finish rather than the heavy resinous close you would expect. Performance is where Al Haramain always deliver — eight to ten hours with real projection for the first few. This is a hot-weather fragrance that does not disappear in the heat."
